Positive:
Overall, I could not fault this accommodation. The place looked exactly like in the pictures and the descriptions were accurate.
The rooms were very modern, very clean almost came across as unused. The kitchen had plenty of amenities, a big fridge, lots of pots and pans, glasses, cut etc and they were all in very good condition, almost came across as never used and were of nice quality also. The bathroom was perfect for one or two people given the apartment was only one bedroom, the shower as fabulous. The television and heating/air-conditioning was very easy to use.
The bed was very comfortable. The apartment felt very safe, which is what I was looking for given I was a female staying there by myself. The staff on the front desk were very obliging and the communication was good.
The location was excellent. If you walked 10-15 minutes in any direction you could see most of the main sites including the Louvre, Champs Elysees, – Madeline and Opera Garnier were only a 5 min walk.
Galleries Lafayette and Printemps were virtually at the top of the street. It was an added bonus to have a carrefour express supermarket only 50metres away and it was open till 11 pm.
I didn't use the restaurant next door, which is part of the complex but it would be an added convenience for some people and looked good.
Negative:
The only complaints I had about the property were
• It said it had a 24/7 desk which I required being a single female staying there by myself. But on many occasions I entered and left the building and there was no one there with the sign saying such as "back soon if you have any queries contact us…"
Having said that, you had to use a code to get in to the lobby so it still felt quite safe.
• The MAJOR complaint I had was that I stayed in a room facing the street (who doesn't want a room with a view of Paris?) and the soundproofing was so poor that it sounded like I was sleeping with all the windows open so I could hear every noise in the street below really clearly.
To make things worse, there was a bar just up from the hotel with people standing on the street drinking and being loud, and also what appeared to be a nightclub that was open 3 to 4 nights while I was there and people stood on the street there also. Twice at 2:30 am in the morning people were singing happy birthday on the street. I understand that the accommodation has no control over that, but if the building was soundproofed better it would not have mattered.
Granted, I am a very light sleeper but I think most people would've found it frustrating.
I stayed in an apartment on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré for 4 nights prior to moving accommodations just to be in different parts of the city and that apartment was very very quiet – so clearly this is possible. It must have had double glazed glass windows and it also had window shutters so the apartment was very dark and quiet.
The curtains in this apartment were not that thick so not much blackout so the rooms were too bright for me also at night. I know that sounds really picky but it meant that I slept late nearly every day which impacted how much time I had out in Paris to enjoy my holiday and came home very tired/not rested like a holiday should be.
